Today we will be considering the few steps in being Future concious.
1. GOOD PLANNING: The very first steps of being Future concious is planning the future.
Dear, it is a tragedy to picture a future you don't prepared and planned for, because you can't capture it.
Nothing really takes a man by surprise if he always prepares and planned for everything. Every vision and goal must be backed up with a corresponding actions and these actions are kick started with a realistic planning.
Planning is like a map. It leads you to your desired future.
Jesus in one of his teachings on the cost of being a disciple, clearly explain the need and importance of planning.
Luke 14:28 "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?
14:29 For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him,
14:30 saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'
14:31 "Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?
14:32 If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace.
What Jesus is saying in the above verses is that, "if you fail to plan and prepare your future, you're already in planning and preparation to fail in the future."
It is planning that helps you become future concious and as well help you eliminate pitfalls that is ready to put your life into shambles.
Joseph was placed in position of a Prime Minister to plan and conquer the years of famine which God revealed to Pharaoh (See Gen. 41:46-57)
Dear, if you must dominate your future, plan your future
2. DISCIPLINE: The second way to becoming future concious is discipline. This is a code of behavior and actions as well as a systematic method of obtaining a certain thing desired for (goal)
Dear child of God, with all sincerity, if you must see the future you desire for, you must be disciplined enough to remain on the course. Discipline must be hundred percent enacted.
When you're discipline yourself over your day to day activities, you will be able to modify your future into what you desire but if you just live. Dear, you're trading your future.
3. TAKE IT TO GOD: lastly, I must let you know that the future belongs to God. If you seek His face, He will reveal to you what the future carries and you will be able to plan and discipline yourself to overcome the pitfalls in your peregrination to your future.
Amos 3:7 "Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants..."
