Sunday is the day of the week between Saturday and Monday. Sunday is a day of rest in most Western countries, and African countries like our country Nigeria, as a part of the weekend and weeknight. For most observant Christians, Sunday is observed as a day of worship and rest, holding it as the Lord's Day and the day of Christ's resurrection.
Today Christianity has three major streams, each possessing its own internal pluralism — the Catholic Communion, the Orthodox Christian Churches, and Protestant movements.
But all of them centered on one God.
Now, I want to let you know that Sunday is far beyond just going to Church, dancing in church, dressing good clothing, giving offerings, gymnastics prayers, worshipping and praising God in church as we do see these days and all manner dramatic display.
Sunday is about REFLECTION and EVALUATION of our stand in Christ Jesus.
The main points include:
1. Belief in God the Father, Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit
2. Accepting death, descent into hell, resurrection and ascension of Christ.
3. The holiness of the Church and the communion of saints.
4. Christ's second coming, the Day of Judgement and salvation of the faithful.
Apart from these four stances, any other thing we do on Sunday is secondary to what it is designed for.
