Let's talk about prayer..
Prayer is very important. There's an old saying that PRAYER IS THE MASTER KEY.
No one can survive without air in the same manner nobody can survive without prayer.
“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,” — Luk 18:1 (NKJV)
Jesus was describing the power and the necessity of consistency in prayer in the verse above.
Just as you breathe daily also is prayer very important.
Prayer is powerful that's why the act of praying can make anyone powerful.
Two major reasons why believers find it hard to pray are...
1. Weak of understanding prayer.
2. Indiscipline to pray.
God makes prayer to be a system of reaching Him. God makes prayer a system of communing and interacting with the divinity.
HARD FACTS ABOUT PRAYER.
1. Prayer is the key to fellowship with God.
2. Prayer is the clearest proof of your humility before God.
3. Prayer helps build a wall of fortification and immunity around yourself.
4. Prayer multiplies the grace on your life.
5. Prayer prepares you for God.
Why you must pray.
1. You must prayer to keep your consecration and connection with God.
2. It will be very easy for the enemy to go before you to temper with your future if you don't pray.
3. The health of your prayer life determines the health of your finance, marriage and business. You must prayer.
4. You're as useful to God to the degree of the fervency and effectiveness of your prayer life.
DANGER OF PRAYERLESSNESS.
Prayerlessness is bad. The sign of death is prayerlessness.
The devil's advantage in anyone's life is traceable to prayerlessness.
Today's difficulty, hardship and disfavour is traceable to yesterday's prayerlessness.
Prayerlessness is an omission the devil will always leverage upon to humiliate anyone.
THE POWER OF PRAYER.
Prayer is a force. Prayer is a strengthener. Prayer is a projector.
When you pursue God through prayer and get connected to Him such that you have unhindered access to Him which opens easy flow of direction, instructions and guidance that's when you will begin to experience the supernatural possibilities.
Darkness is everywhere. It is prayer that chase darkness far away.
The devil fears prayerful believers and he dares prayerless believers even if to they're staying in the same estate with God.
One of the reasons why believers don't experience the power of prayer is that they're inconsistent and ignorant of the support systems and attachments that prayer needs.
Four things you need to know about prayer.
1. PRAYER AND PURITY OF HEART.
Prayer is most effective to the degree of the purity of your heart.
“If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear.” — Ps 66:18 (NKJV)
One of the most prayerful Bible characters was David but he knew heart condition can frustrate and hinder his prayer.
Sin in the heart affects prayer badly. Bitterness, envy, unclean thoughts, jealousy, pride etc kill prayer power.
The heart condition matters alot. Your heart condition may be hindering what your mouth is saying.
Many people don't know that the devil is tricky, he deceives alot that's why even in your worst and most sinful acts you're progressing which you called grace but the danger doesn't show in the now but later.
Let your heart be free, pure and clean.
2. PRAYER AND GIVING.
Prayer and greed can't work.
Prayer and self centeredness can't work.
Prayer and avarice can't work.
“and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God.” — Acts 10:31 (NKJV)
Giving can make your prayer to be remembered by God. In the case of Cornelius it wasn't only PRAYER that was remembered by God but in accompany with his GIVING.
MOST BELIEVERS ARE STINGY.
Someone sai; "I was strolling with someone 2 days ago, we saw an uncompleted church building, surprisingly to me, the person said he can never go to that kind of church because you will help them complete the building before you even think of building your own." Whaaaat? Imagine!
Giving, sacrifice, offerings etc are push to prayer.
You must get to a point where funding God's project and His servants become a lifestyle.
One thing about giving is that you don't need to have enough to give, you only need a heart that puts God's programme, project and people first.
When you give you win God's trust to enthrust you with more.
3. PRAYER AND UNDERSTANDING.
An ignorantly prayerful person is not different from a very prayerless person. Yes!
Understanding boosts prayer. Understanding amplify prayer.
“They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable.” — Ps 82:5 (NKJV)
What you don't have understanding about but you're praying about is still futile.
MOST BELIEVERS ARE TOO LAZY TO SEEK LIGHT
Don't you know that clarity amplifies your prayer.
Praying with confusion only multiply your doubt and worry.
Take time to sit with God's Word. Learn!
Prayer and illumination never fails.
4. PRAYER AND CONSISTENCY.
Praying inconsistently is prayerlessness.
Consistency is the key to effective praying.
“Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, "There is a cloud, as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea!" So he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.' "” — 1Kin 18:44 (NKJV)
Elijah prayed and remain consistent until the 7th times before rain came.
Consistency is the resolve to remain unbending and untiring until answer comes.
